dented box (series)

As part of Anish Kapoor's Non-Object series, the Dented Box presented a series of technical challenges that required both state-of-the-art computer production methods combined with traditional metal fabrication craftsmanship. Although simple in form, the piece required laser-straight edges for all sides and precise shaping of the indentations. Any variation in form or finish would significantly detract from the visual power of the piece, and the end product achieved the desired effect. Stainless steel, produced for Anish Kapoor.
