spire (series)

The spires are fabricated from formed plates welded together and supported in a perfectly round shape by a ribbed internal structure. The sharp tip is a separate solid CNC-machined piece, concealing a lifting point for moving the sculpture. It is placed on the top of the main 'bell' of the sculpture at the time of installation, yet the joint is invisible to the naked eye. Spires have been shown in multiple locations, including New York City, Boston, Mumbai, and in a major outdoor show in Kensington Gardens, London. Stainless steel, produced for Anish Kapoor.
