large hourglass  /  Jerusalem, Israel  2010

Anish Kapoor's Turning the World Upside Down is the centerpiece for the recently expanded and renovated Israel Museum. Working to capture the artist's vision, PSI developed new tools and methods to capture the precise shape and finish that defines the piece. At over 16 feet in height and base diameter, the seamless finish reflects and transforms the views of the museum and Jerusalem. Built from 316L stainless steel, the sculpture weighs 18,000 pounds. PSI worked closely with the shippers and installation crews and provided on-site technical support for the installation.
